Each of us possesses an inner light
in bodies that have carried us
and cared for us
from the beginning
but rather than letting the soft glow
of that beacon guide us
we live from places
far outside of ourselves
from ideas and doctrines
from impressions and judgments
made by those far removed from our our hearts
and it has made us less human, less whole.
Let us return home
to the kindness and wisdom of ourselves.
